LGCC 2019 Launches on 19th September 2019 – All staff & students welcome!
On 19 September 2019 11 AM to 2 PM at the Engine Shed, as part of the 2019 Fresher’s Week, we launch our 4 month long Lincoln’s Global Community Celebrations (LGCC) where a series of awareness campaigns and equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives will be run till 19 December 2019.
LGCC launch sets the scene for welcoming, embracing and valuing diversity, difference and uniqueness in all its forms. As a forward-thinking, growing University, we recognise that while we aren’t perfect; we are committed to having open, honest conversations, continuously learning and to supporting everyone in feeling welcome – no matter where they are from, what they look like or who they are.
We want everyone to socialise, feel safe and welcome as they enter or move forward in their time at the University of Lincoln be they staff or students.
As the University grows and evolves, so does our approach to celebrating and embracing diversity in all its forms.
“At the University of Lincoln, we welcome difference and diversity. We would not thrive without different ideas, perspectives and people. Diverse, innovative and courageous – this is what we believe our staff and students should strive for.” – Professor Mary Stuart, Vice Chancellor – University of Lincoln.
As a community, we unite to create a respectful and inclusive environment where discrimination, and hate in any form is not tolerated and where our staff and students (minority or otherwise) can work and study without fear of experiencing bullying, harassment, victimisation or discrimination due to any and all individual and protected characteristics.
Our Vice Chancellor, HR, Senior, College and School Leadership Teams fully support our approach to Inclusion. They are fully bought into implementing continued efforts that embrace diversity, while remaining self-reflective, learning continuously and improving as a University that proudly values and carries out its civic responsibility in support of the Equality Act.
We believe in equality for all while acknowledging, representing, respecting, valuing and embracing diversity in its many forms; remaining inclusive in every way.
